How Do I Find The Minimum Software Requirements For My Computer For San Jose State?

I am buying a computer and i am wondering what the minimum system configuration, software, and accessories are required at San Jose state university to choose the right computer for myself. My major is civil engineering (if that helps).

   The University’s IT Support Services can give you a recommendation on what you need.
   As with all computer purchases, it is recommended that you purchase more than the minimum requirements, as this will help you as software updates come out in the future.
