What Does Data Encryption Software Do

Data encryption software transforms plain text into secure unreadable text by using a mathematical algorithm called a cipher. Generally, the party receiving the now ciphered information would need a key or password of some sort in order to decipher the text and again have the ability to read it. A. Generally speaking, no, most users do not need to be running data encryption software. For those that are simple home users, maybe surf the Internet and so on, a data encryption is really not necessary, simply because if someone did gain access to your computer there wouldn’t be a whole lot of personal information. However, if you store a lot of passwords, or use your computer for business you may consider adding some additional protection to ensure that all of your information remains safe.
