What Is The Best Software For Scanning Photos?

I have a cannon scanner do not like the software that came with it as it is all automatic and I cannot adjust the dpi ratio manually. Can anyone recommend a program that will work with my scanner and allow me to adjust the resolution?

   VueScan Scanning Software or IRISPowerscan are some of the best scanning software. You may use any of them to get a better result.
